CFC MTB June Transmission #3 6/14/22

Hello All,

We are in for a scorcher of a week this week luckily, we MTB’ers get to play in the shade!
The Wednesday Nite XC@CC* is on for 5:30 PM (or as soon as I can get the shop closed as I’ll be solo here that day) rollout from CFC and meeting at Cane Creek around 6pm.

*What is the XC@CC ride?

XC = Cross Country Mountain Biking CC = Cane Creek
We ride a short urban jaunt over to Cane Creek Park. Then ride as many or as little laps as we each feel like at whatever pace we feel like – regrouping every lap at the “talking spot” near the original trail head entrance. Then we roll back as a group. This ride is more about fun off-road riding rather than being fast and setting KOM records. All ability levels welcome.

This week’s Saturday Ride Plans:
We’re going to keep it local this week and return to Cane Creek. Meet at CFC for an 8AM rollout or meet at Cane Creek around 8:15.

Let’s Dig in Cookeville!

  • Our very own UCSorba is having a work day at Cane Creek Park Saturday June 25th to work on completing the entire loop on the South side. Person power is needed to help carry and set the new bridge for the creek crossing and spread some gravel to help armor the wet sections. Workday is planned to run 8am-Noon.

If you’ve never worked on a trail before, don’t be shy. Come out and lend a hand. UCSorba members will help guide you through the process. Also, if you’re not a member, consider joining. Numbers matter, you matter. If you want more trails in the area, this is the group to support to help get our voices heard about getting more trails and trail access in Cookeville and the Upper Cumberland.

  • Keep your calendars open for the 22nd. It will be another Wednesday night MTB ride but with a twist to celebrate the start of Summer. More details to come.
  • The Weds and Saturday dirt rides aren’t the only rides in the area. There is a standing Thursday night group ride that leaves from the parking lot across from the Shop as well as multiple Tuesday Night Worlds rides. For more info on the Tuesday rides email cfcadventures@gmail.com and ask to get on the email list to stay up to date.
Until next time keep the rubber side down and the stoke turned up.
Cheers!
